I buy the large size of these and take them whenever gout-type pain happens in my feet. These relieve the pain and stiffness within a few days (I take 4-8 of them a day for a few days) and in my case the problem is then gone for weeks or months. They don't seem to have any side effects. I've tried many different gout-relief supplements, and these ate the best I've found. Most people swallow them, but I chew them up.
