What Organika B.C. White Ginseng is licensed for

It is licensed for sale by Health Canada and bears NPN 80046155. The licence lists four recommended uses:

  • Traditionally used in Herbal Medicine to help maintain a healthy immune system.
  • Traditionally used in Herbal Medicine to help relieve nervous dyspepsia and to help digestion in cases of nervousness and stress.
  • Traditionally used in Herbal Medicine to help relieve nervousness (as mild sedative).
  • Used in Herbal Medicine as supportive therapy for the promotion of healthy glucose levels.

American ginseng, not Asian ginseng

American ginseng is native to the forests of eastern North America; it was first documented near present-day Montreal in 1716. Traditional Chinese practice treats it differently from Asian ginseng (Panax ginseng): Asian ginseng is considered warming and stimulating, while American ginseng is considered cooling and calming. That difference is reflected in this product's licence, which includes use as a mild sedative and for digestion in cases of nervousness and stress.

What's in each capsule

Each capsule contains 0.5 g (500 mg) of ground American ginseng root. The active compounds in ginseng are called ginsenosides, and American ginseng has its own ginsenoside profile, distinct from Asian ginseng's.

How to take it

Adults take 1 capsule once a day. Consult a health care practitioner before use if you have diabetes or if you take blood thinners or digoxin.

Who it suits

Adults who want American ginseng in a simple once-a-day capsule, for traditional immune and calming support rather than a stimulant. If you are looking for an energising ginseng, Asian or Korean ginseng is the traditional choice.

Ginseng has long been one

Ginseng has long been one of the top ingredients in the popular cold prevention, cold FX, therefore, I feel that using a product that is local ginseng for immune system boosting is far more beneficial. This is a great product. I’ve been using it for years.!!

Delivery took a long time

Purchase great but item delivery took almost a month, which should have been communicated to me before finalizing the sale. They did respond to my queries in a timely fashion.
