Mild deficiencies of B vitamins have been linked with fatigue, headaches, and memory loss. B supplements, especially of the powerhouse trio B6, B12, and folic acid, are sometimes all that's needed to alleviate mild depression. More advanced deficiencies are common in people with such neurological disorders as Parkinson's and Alzheimer's diseases.
The Stress Response
Stress triggers the brain to release neurotransmitters, such as adrenaline to provide energy and serotonin to restore calm.
The ongoing stress of modern life can deplete the B vitamins needed to produce neurotransmitters, which can trigger symptoms - fatigue, irritability, headaches, insomnia, forgetfulness - associated with severe stress. Heart HealthB6, B12, and folic acid regulate levels of homocysteine.
An amino acid metabolite, elevated homocysteine levels have been linked with atherosclerosis. B3 supports healthy total cholesterol levels.
Liver Health
The liver cannot function without B vitamins. The liver is vital in metabolizing fats, eliminating toxins from the body, regulating blood glucose, and many other functions, so good liver health is vital to good overall health. Supplements of B vitamins can support recovery from alcoholism by supporting liver detoxification, which also reduces cravings.
Fetal Development
Folic acid is crucial to fetal brain development immediately after conception; other B vitamins become important later in pregnancy.
Maternal deficiencies can lead to neurological defects, such as spina bifida, in infants. Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS) may occur because alcohol inhibits absorption of B vitamins by the developing fetus. Female Reproductive HealthB vitamins may be depleted by pregnancy, contributing to postpartum depression. B vitamins support production of reproductive hormones, and deficiencies may contribute to symptoms of PMS and menopause.
Other Important Points about SISU Cool B50 ? Cool B50 contains B3 in the form of inositol hexanicotinate, which does not cause the harmless flushing reaction that occurs when some people take B3.
? Because B vitamins are produced in the gastrointestinal system, bowel disorders such as colitis and Crohn's disease can trigger B deficiencies.? B12 is found only in animal products, so vegans may suffer deficiencies. ? Intense exercise stresses metabolic pathways, so athletes are wise to take B supplements.? B vitamins, and particularly B6, B12, and folic acid, diminish with age. Studies show that B supplements can reduce mortality risk among elderly nursing home residents.
Great brand that works I wish it was less expensive

Create your own “multi”
After researching all the main vitamins and minerals, I’ve found that it’s easier to customize a daily mix by combining a few Sisu and Natural Factors products, rather than trying to find a “multi” that covers everything I want (and none of what I don’t want). Sisu SupremeMulti comes close, but it works out cheaper to get the individual components, including this product (‘Cool B50’) and ‘Only Minerals’ (also Sisu). (I gave it four stars instead of five, only because it contains the synthetic form of B12, whereas the Sisu multi contains the natural form.)
